THE BARE MINIMUM
The staircase is in fact the first element you encounter in your house and inevitably acts as a kind of “business card” to present and welcome the building. Yet this is only a staircase made out of cement mix, and since you have decided to also recover the wooden floors (in parquet), you can’t in fact replace the material with anything else. So what can one do?
Intervention work was only done on the wall surfaces of the stairwell, which have been coated in just a few millimetres of resin in tone with the wall finishing. The landing and staircase railings are mounted on these two glass panes (so one is straight along the landing and the other goes down following the steps) and are fixed to the main structure with stainless steel fasteners.
The end result is simple but effective: the solution adapted reveals a sense of continuity among the different areas and the lighting, the colours and chosen materials immediately turn this place into a rather suggestive and inviting place to go and live in.
